Over the last few months, we’ve spent some time talking about the benefits of Mitsubishi heat pumps. Heat pumps, for most homes, are a great idea, a money saver, and a great way to keep your home and family comfortable. Still trying to decide which one is right for you? Check out this comparison.
While there is no solid answer as to which is better, there are definite pros and cons to both ducted and ductless, the first thing being the installation. While neither are DIY projects, a ductless system needs just a small hole in the wall, whereas a ducted system would need access to the ductwork inside the walls of your home.
While ductless systems are efficient, a ducted system may only need one unit to keep an entire home comfortable, depending on the size of your home. This means that while the up front cost of installing ducts might seem high, the savings of having one unit, and the energy savings included with that can eventually counter that.
So while it seems like there is no clear winner your choice will likely come down to your situation. Are you building a new home, or doing extensive renovations? A ducted system might be your best bet. But if you’re in a newer home and wanting to be more energy-efficient, then a ductless system can do the trick.
