Wood vs. Propane vs. Pellet
When it comes to heating your home, you have many choices, each providing their own unique benefits. While the end result is comfortable warmth, how you want to get there will help you decide which option will work best for you.
Warmth
When it comes to simplicity, you can’t beat a wood-burning fireplace. Put in the wood, set it on fire, and get warm. While pellet stoves are fairly similar, they offer more control with options like adjusting the temperature with remote control, or even via an app on your phone! When you switch to propane you’ve got a fuel that gets warmer faster, meaning you use less fuel to get comfortable.
Efficiency
The beauty of new home heating technology is that no matter the fuel, you’re getting something that will be more efficient than before, keeping you and your family comfortable, with a smaller impact on the environment.
Cost
When it comes to wood, pellet, and propane stoves, they all offer fairly inexpensive fuels, at least compared to electric heat. Fuels for these types of stoves are readily available, and less costly than using your central heating, whether it’s natural gas, or electric.
While the benefits of each of these types of furnaces are fairly similar, they all have the advantage of being less costly to run than conventional heating sources, like natural gas, or electric heat.
