Low odor products without that lingering paint smell. Paint that is durable, washable and scrub-able to keep walls in mint condition. Colour that unfailingly delivers “oohs” and “aahs”.

The Gennex Colourant Advantage: In order to maintain environmental responsibility, the Gennex colorants contain zero VOCs, including the darkest colors. Even Benjamin Moore’s zero-VOC paints maintain zero-VOC, while other zero-VOC paints may actually contain VOCs when tinted with UTC.

Paint and Stain Tips

Buying Quality Paint

In general, glossier paints are more stain-resistant and scrubbable. But a higher sheen also highlights any imperfections in the wall or in the paint job. Flat paints are fine for ceiling and formal rooms, but for most of our customers, we recommend an eggshell gloss.

Caulking All Cracks

Filling gaps with a paintable acrylic-latex caulk cuts down on drafts and makes you trim look better than new, the secret to using caulk is to cut the tip smaller than you think it should be; too much caulk makes an unwanted mess. Also use a small wire to break the seal instead of a nail, so you don’t over stretch out the nozzle.

Buying the Best Paintbrush for the Project

A good paintbrush is key to a professional-looking finish and it can range from $10 to $20. When choosing a brush, pay attention to the bristles. Synthetic brushes are made of nylon or polyester, or a combination of the two. Poly bristles are stiffer, which makes them good for exterior or textured work, but for fine interior work, use softer nylon brushes.
